Liverpool are tracking Marc Bernal closely amid the Barcelona midfielder’s struggle for first-team minutes this season. The 19-year-old remains keen to convince head coach Hansi Flick of his quality, but is not currently a first-choice option at the Catalan club.
According to reports, the player would need to express a clear preference to Barcelona’s management for any move to materialise. Any deal appears unlikely before the summer, when the club will review his playing time.
Manager Andoni Iraola has been identified as an admirer of Bernal’s profile, though Ward’s priorities centre on addressing the midfield’s balance. Liverpool’s search for an experienced holding midfielder has drawn attention to alternatives such as Lamine Camara at Monaco, who offers the defensive stability the squad currently lacks.
